General Social Science

Are you interested in class trips to historical sites? Being involved in historical reenactments?  Hearing authors tell their stories? Attending lectures to learn about our rich heritage? A degree in Secondary General Social Science (6-12) could be for you!

Judson College Department of Education provides a state-approved program for the preparation of secondary teachers in the area of history.  In this major, you’ll learn how to teach history to students of various ages. You’ll learn how to make history “come alive” to students as you take education courses that cover such topics as lesson planning, classroom management, content area reading, and educational psychology. You’ll complete your training with a semester of student teaching.
