Accreditation and CSWE

In addition to its approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Judson College BSW program is accredited through 2026 by the Council on Social Work Education.  Our BSW graduates may sit for the State Licensure exam (LBSW) in the state of their choosing and are eligible for advanced standing in an MSW program. Advanced standing means that students may skip the first year of a two-year MSW program, depending on the graduate program’s policies. This is a huge benefit, from both a time and financial perspective!

The Judson College BSW Program consists of 50 credit hours of required social work classes and a minimum of 400 clock hours of field placement in a social services agency. Field work is taken over the student’s last two semesters of social work courses, generally corresponding to the senior year.*

*The BSW Program does not accept life experience and/or previous work or volunteer experience for academic credit or for the required 400 hours of field experience.
