Nursing

As I grew up in Marion, I was always aware of Judson’s outstanding science department. When plans for the nursing program were announced, I was so excited, not only for myself, but for the community as a whole.  At Judson, I can achieve my academic goals, maintain a strong relationship with Christ, and participate in traditions that bond us in sisterhood.      - Kasey ‘13

Judson’s founders believed that educating women was important not just because of what it would mean for Judson students, but how their knowledge could benefit their communities.  For the past 175 years, Judson has been equipping women to make a difference. In 2011, Judson College began an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), creating a new way to empower our students to improve their own lives by helping the people around them.  The 2-year ADN program at Judson College consists of 72 credit hours of coursework and clinical practice.  Graduating students are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam to earn RN licensure.

Our nursing program emphasizes hands-on service opportunities and clinical experiences with a focus on medical facilities across the Alabama Black Belt.  The nursing laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art computerized simulators which provide nursing students the opportunity for simulated real-life experiences similar to the clinical practice setting.  Judson nursing students are prepared as entry level nurses and can make a profound difference in the lives of the people they serve.

Nursing students also have the opportunity to benefit from the supportive campus environment, College traditions, and co-curricular experiences that make Judson unique.

The Nursing program is a candidate for accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
