Course Reserves
Faculty must contact the librarian to place materials on reserve. Reserve items are kept behind the circulation desk, entered into the circulation system as a course reserve, and checked out on short term or in house loan.
Reservation of Library Spaces
Students and faculty may reserve library spaces, including but not limited to study carrels, listening rooms, and classrooms by contacting the librarians. Reservation of library space is on a case by case basis and patrons will not be given a time limit for use unless demand necessitates. If demand necessitates, patrons may reserve library spaces for an hour. Areas must be returned to original condition.
Reference Consultations
Students and faculty occasionally need more assistance than the traditional reference transaction can provide. In these instances the patron may request a reference consultation for the purpose of assistance with advanced research needs. Patrons must contact a librarian to set up the appointment.
Library Materials Requests
The library relies on the collaboration of the faculty to build the collection. Requests are welcome and necessary. All requests for library materials should be recorded on the Library Materials Request Form and submitted to the librarian responsible for collection management.
Requests need to be submitted by the end of each spring semester.
Library Instruction
Education in information literacy is essential to find, retrieve, analyze and use information ethically and effectively. Librarians are eager to collaborate with faculty to teach students how to effectively use the library resources. Faculty is encouraged to use the Library Instruction Request forms for the purpose of accurate planning.
