Unless otherwise specified, students must maintain a minimum standard of academic progress to continue receiving funds under the following financial programs:
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant
- Federal Perkins Loan
- Federal Stafford Loan
- Federal College Work-Study Program
- Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students
- Alabama Student Grant Program
- Alabama Student Assistance Program
- Any institutionally administered programs
Academic progress is reviewed at the end of each semester and notification given to students who fail to make appropriate progress. The student’s academic year will be defined as two consecutive semesters, with or without a subsequent or intervening short-term. Minimum standards of academic progress are:
- First year: 18 hours completed, 1.70 cumulative GPA
- Second year: 36 hours completed, 2.00 cumulative GPA
- Third year: 57 hours completed, 2.00 cumulative GPA
- Fourth year: 79 hours completed, 2.00 cumulative GPA
- Fifth year: 103 hours completed, 2.00 cumulative GPA
- Sixth year: 128 hours completed, 2.00 cumulative GPA
