“Being a member of the varsity equestrian team was a fun thing for me, but the discipline, organization, adaptability, and ability to think on my feet that I acquired in Judson’s equine program prepared me for the professional world.” -Lauren ‘08

Judson College Equestrians compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 5, Region 2 at various levels, including Beginner Walk/Trot and open divisions in both Hunter and Western styles of riding.

Tryouts for the IHSA team take place in early September.  Riders are placed in their proper divisions based on previous riding divisions based on previous riding experience.  Judson covers the costs of travel, food, registration, membership, and entry fees for all team members representing the College in IHSA competition.

Judson’s on-campus equine center located within easy walking distance of residence halls, administrative offices, and academic buildings.  Our newly constructed facilities include a 120 by 200 foot clear riding space under a covered arena, a jumping field and riding trails, and a 30-stall barn with tack rooms, a feed room, and a wash rack.
