Judson College :: Academics/Digital Judson

Hey everyone! My name is Amber. This year I'll be bringing you to posts about academics here at Judson and a brand new section - Digital Judson!

I'm an animal loving, biology major from Tampa, Florida, who often runs around with her camera trying to be artistic. If you see someone crawling around in the bushes taking photos of random bugs and flowers, that's probably me.

Sometimes it's rough to explain only with words why I love it here. It's just easier to show it! So stick around and check out what I'm up to here at Ol' JC. I promise to post lots of pretty pictures!

    This weekend the Ornithology class took a trip to Dauphin Island for some serious birding. We were there with binoculars and guide books in hand, but, unfortunately, the birds were not. Due to weather conditions, many of the migrating birds had already flown over their usual stop on their annual trek back north.

    We did get to see lots of shore birds, even a few the Florida girl (myself) hadn't seen before.

     The morning fog softened the marsh landscape. Gorgeous!

     This is the spot where we saw two species of Rail, the Sora and Clapper Rails.

    Another of my favorite stops was the Garfield Park Conservatory. The place was chock full of flowers and since I love taking flower photos (if you couldn't tell), I was pretty pleased. So many pretty spring blooms to admire!

     There were little miniature dinos spread throughout the conservatory too!

    Navy Pier was another of my favorite stops during our stay in Chicago. It was cold that day, but can you image how packed this place must be during the summer months. Lake Michigan was beautiful. The pier has an indoor area with lots of shops and places to spend your money too if you're so inclined.

    Jana, with a beard. The ferris wheel, I see it! I love ferris wheels!

    Hello Jasmine. You have no idea what a beautiful view you're missing from up here.

     Jana and Sarah Elizabeth - bearded buddies on the ferris wheel. Also, this seagull and I had a connection. It was meaningful and deep. He let me walk right up to him and take photos.

     Kaylee and Christina looking out over Lake Michigan. Oh look, I know those people!

     I think birds pose for me. Ferris wheel!
