BAM!
I was told that the first lines of a blog are the attention grabber. Did it work?
My name is Audra Gayle Kennedy. This is my junior year at Judson College and my first year as a blogger.
What else is there to know about me? I am a fairly average individual who enjoys the simple pleasures of life.
You will most likely find me drinking a cup of coffee, reading a book, or purposefully (and rather comically) bustling to my numerous activities and classes.
It came as no surprise to my friends that I was hired to blog about Judson traditions and history. If you spend more than 15 minutes with me, I will probably tell you some random fact, story, or tidbit you MUST know to survive. J
My goal as a blogger is to share the rich history of Judson College with you. Hopefully, my attempts are somewhat successful.
The legacy of Judson College is a lot like the beginning of my blog. My freshmen year, I had no idea of the immense history that surrounded me.
The longer I hung around, asked questions, and observed my upper classmen friends, the more I grew to understand.
One day, all of the knowledge crept upon me like a lightning bolt.
WHACK!
In a few years I will leave Judson and embark on my next phase of life.
What's to be said of my time here? How can I guarantee that these truths I now cherish will remain for future classes?
Frances Hamilton and Elizabeth Wells, the authors of Daughters of the Dream, state:
"It is our hope that this work will encourage others to delve deeper into Judson lore. The history of Judson is a mother lode waiting to be mined."
I pray that throughout the year, we can learn more about Mother Judson together.
Let the adventure begin!
