Equestrian Blog

Hi,my name is Corey Finlay and I am the Judson College Equestrian blogger. Although I was born in and spent the first ten years of my life in Ontario,Canada, I now call Oxford, Alabama my home. Atleast when I am not here at Judson.  I can't believe that this is my third year at Jusdon College where I am a business major and an Equine Science and Web Design Minor. I love this school and can't see my self any where else.

    Welcome

Hello all and welcome to my blog.

To those of you who are returning fans, welcome back.

Another year at Judson is getting under way and I am pleased to be continuing as the Judson College equestrian blogger. I will also be serving my second term as the Judson College blog staff Chief Blogger, thanks to the rest of the blogging staff.

To my new readers, this blog entry will give you a very brief overview of what you will find in my blog over the course of the year.

Through out the year I hope to share with you what a great and unique opportunity the equine program here at Judson College has to offer you. Whether you are interested in majoring or minoring in Equine Studies, competing on the Equestrian Team, or just taking a few riding classes to hang out with the horses, Judson has something for you. We are the only school with a program like it in the state of Alabama. Come back soon, or go ahead and check out some of my blogs from last year, to learn more about it.

I also hope  to show you what a special place Judson College is over all by giving you a glimpse into what it is like to be a "Judson Girl", from classes to traditions.

Now that you have a bit of an idea about what my blog will cover, I am going to warn you that if you keep following me you will eventually (or sooner)  find something in one of my posts that is not listed here.

It is going to be a fun and exciting year full of horses, tests, papers, projects, friends,  late nights, early mornings, glitter, signs, drip bottles, and everything else that makes Judson, Judson and I hope that you will join me for the adventure.

I am so glad you took the time to stop by and learn about my blog for this year and can't wait till next time.

If you have any questions please do no hesitate to ask. You can leave a comment on my blog, or check me out on facebook and send me a message.

Hey and welcome to my blog.

I  have just begun my second year here at Judson College and have had such an enjoyable experience that I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you, not only some of what Judson College has to offer, but also what it is like to be a Judson Girl. I am from Oxford, Alabama where I attended Oxford High School. I will be majoring in Equine Business Management with a minor in Equine Science, which brings me to one of the unique things Judson has to offer as well as  one of the main reasons I chose to attend Judson: The equestrian program.

I have loved horses for as long as I can remember and at Judson I am  able to take classes that teach about caring for horses, looking after horses, training horses, and I even get to ride. During my freshmen year at Judson I took a riding class each semester and spent most of my spare time at the barn, helping do things like clean tack, bath horses, and even watch other classes. After riding for a year and improving my riding ability I decided to tryout for and be a part of the Judson Equestrian team, which brings me to where I am today, nearing the end of my first week back at Judson and desperately trying to find show clothes before the show season gets under way.

Through my blog you will learn a lot about the equestrian program here at Judson, from what it is like to ride on the team to what riding classes are like, what it is like to be taking an  equine related major or minor and you may even get to meet some of the horses. However, you will also learn about many other important aspects of the Judson experience.

    Hope to see you again

    *Corey*
