So long, farewell....until we meet again

Well, this is the end, but I don't even know where to begin. < funny...huh?> I guess I should start by saying how great of an influence Judson had on my life. Instead, I want to talk about the influence I had on Judson. Now, I know this sounds a little arrogant, but let me explain....

Last Christmas at Judson :(

This weekend was the Christmas time at Judson. Every year we take this time to honor or Christmas traditions. Of course there is a secret one, but there are others that I can actually tell you about.

The first one is Christmas tea! At the beginning of this week, the Social Committee started decorating for this event....

Happy Holidays!

It's sad that Thanksgiving is already over, but I'm glad that Christmas is around the corner. I've been rocking out to Christmas music in my car. The other night I turned the radio on and the song "My grown up Christmas list" was playing. Now, this song has never really affected me until now....

Where has the semester gone?

It has all just hit me at once! I felt like everyone and their momma asked me about my last day at school. I mean, gah people! Rub it in! I have one week left, after Thanksgiving break. Really, I'm excited that it is so close. I'm also a little sad. I'm going to miss the random, friendly gatherings, most of all....

Can you say...Nervous?!

I had my first big girl interview, yesterday morning! I know! It was so exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. All week I kept telling myself not to worry about it. My wonderful mother told me to just pray and leave it in God's hands. Sometimes I find that hard to do. I did obey my mother, though....

Yearly Spook!

Yay, another tradition! I bet you didn't see this one coming. Well, every year we have an early morning Halloween run. This event involves Judson girls, usually freshman, waking up at about 6:00 in the morning to wait for the MMI cadets. Yeah you heard me right. We Judson girls get up early to watch over 100 boys run down our street....

My 4th grade students are quite hilarious. They have so much more personality than the Kindergarteners, or should I say very different personalities. Sometimes I have to get on to them for their behavior towards each other. They are at the age where they are all trying to find where they belong. Most of them are insecure in some way and they try to hide it by making fun of their classmates; making their peers laugh....

Hockey=Togetherness? Bahahahah!

Recently, I had a prospective ask me about the things we do for fun at Judson. Immediately I found myself talking about our many traditions. Here at Judson we are built on our sisterhood and traditions. Our traditions set us apart from all the other colleges, especially the secret ones. (Want to know a secret? What can I say I'm a Madagascar fan! I can't help it. Every time I hear this song it makes me want to get up and dance. I love it! Anyway, let's get to the real meaning behind me choosing this particular title.

My first placement is now over, and I can't believe it. There was so much going on that, I guess, I didn't realize how much time was passing. I really learned a lot from this placement, these students, and my amazing classroom teacher. I'm really glad that my first placement was in Kindergarten....

OOOO...Lightning!

Last night was almost the last day of the rest of my life. I have never been more thankful to know God, than I was last night. It had the potential to be a very painful experience. I don't know if you have ever had one of those experiences. If you have, I'm sure you would remember.

Lightning is so scary! My roommate, her little sister, and I were coming back from a great seal party....

Today was the first day of my two week unit. It was really a great day! All of my students were interested in the lessons. They did what I asked, and did it well. I'm really blessed to be placed in this particular classroom. It has been a great experience. I have learned a lot of things, from the classroom teacher, that I will definitely enforce in my own classroom....

Lesson Plans! AHHHHH!

Ok. So when I hear the words Lesson Plans, I automatically here the Jaws theme music....."da.....da....da....da....da da da da da da". Just like a shark, these things sneak up on you and can be life altering. I once thought that I was ahead of the game. Now, I know that I was just in its territory....

Today is the Sabbath, and you know what that means. Church! After a week like last week, it was time for me to worship God. This blog is going to be an overview of the sermon from today. I decided to do this, because I felt like the sermon was speaking to me as a part of Judson. The title of the sermon was "Standing Together"....

"Marion! Of all the Cities in the USA, you are the best....you're on the map to stay"

In case you didn't know, Judson is located in the "big" city of Marion, AL. (sarcastic) That is usually the first negative thing I hear about Marion. Someone is always talking about how small and boring it is. Out of the two years I have been here, I've hardly ever been bored. Don't get me wrong....

It's Friday! I have always looked forward to Fridays, but they have become even more sacred since I've started student teaching. Don't ask me how, but I always get a boost of energy on Friday morning. Today was great! We didn't have any casualties or fits. Overall, it was a very successful day....

Rosy Goblet

Hello again :) As I stated in my previous blog, yesterday (Sunday) was Rose Sunday. It was AMAZING! It is always great. This Rose Sunday was extra special, because it was my last one. Even though I may attend other Rose Sundays, this was the last one for me as a student. I actually made it through the entire ceremony, including the serenade, without shedding a tear....

My Sunshine Has Come

Wow! Where has the time gone? It seems like I have been asking myself that a lot, lately. I'm sure you high school seniors know exactly what I'm talking about. Just like I can remember when I was just a freshman in college, I'm sure you can remember that first day of high school. Ugh! Sorry to tell you, but when it comes to the work and classes, high school is where you want to be....
