Woooo Hooooo!! I am finally in Alabama!! Hello everyone, my name is Mary Flores! I guess I should start off by telling you a little bit about myself! Um... well, I was homeschooled through high school but played soccer and ran track for Cascade high school. I love to travel and be adventurous. My friends would say that I am sweet and smile a lot! I am independent and I love art, music, trees, and Bill O'Reilly. I believe that life is truly a gift and if we trust the Lord anything can be accomplished. Oh!... and I'm also from Oregon! GO DUCKS!!
I discovered Judson College, quite by accident really, when I was browsing on the internet and immediately fell in love with the school's history and traditions. I was of course daunted by the idea of moving so far from home, but I didn't let that stop me and my trust in the Lord has grown exceedingly. Navigating my way through the airport was an interesting experience, but I survived! My roommate Gussie, along with her friend Sarah, picked me up from the Birmingham airport and then we went to eat some real southern cooking at the Cracker Barrel! I had never tried sweet tea before... I love it!! It was an awesome way to begin my southern experience!
Judson College is beautiful... it is so surreal to at last be in my dorm!!! Classes have begun and this first week has flown by so quickly! Adjusting to life 2,055 miles away from home has been and will continue to be an adventure but I feel my family's support even though we are in different states. I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for me this school year and I'm super excited to share with you all the little moments of life at Judson. Catch y'all later!
