Judson College maintains a close working relationship with local law enforcement authorities and other emergency service agencies on matters related to safety of the campus.

Despite the small size and welcoming atmosphere of the Judson College campus, students should not, however, allow themselves to be under the impression that the campus is a safe haven from "the real world," as outlined in the Judson Student Handbook.

Students should exercise appropriate care for their own safety by:

  • Locking residence hall rooms and vehicles
  • Avoiding traveling alone, especially at night
  • Being aware of surroundings
  • Being cautious of strangers
  • Staying alert to suspicious behavior
  • Knowing who to contact in the event of an emergency

TIMELY WARNING ALERT

If a situation arises, either on or off-campus, that the college administration deems an ongoing or continuing threat of immediate violence, a campus "timely warning" will be issued.  This warning may come to students, faculty and staff through:

  • Campus email
  • Campus mailboxes
  • Telephone messages
  • Mobile telephone messages
  • Mobile text messages
  • Postings
  • Assemblies

If you have information that might warrant a timely warning, you should report the circumstances to Campus Security or the Office of Student Life.

Each floor of each building on the Judson College campus contains fire extinguishers and smoke detectors.   Smoke detectors are also located in each dorm room.
