History

 

Copies

A copy machine is available on the first floor of the library. Copies are $.10 each. The machine accepts copy cards and money. Faculty, staff, students, and courtesy patrons may use the copier.

 

Equipment

The library has equipment for viewing and listening for in house use.  Faculty and staff may check out equipment. Students must have permission from a librarian and a faculty member to check out equipment.

 

Food and Drink

A coffee corner, supplied with hot beverages, is available for patron use. Patrons are welcome to consume beverages and light snacks in the library; however, meals should not be eaten in the library. Caution and common sense with food and drink must be exercised. Patrons are expected to keep their areas clean and inform library staff if a spill occurs. Food and drinks are not allowed in the Archives or the Riddle Alcove.

 

Circulation

Students and faculty may check out an unlimited number of books.

Courtesy patrons may check out five books at a time. Courtesy patron cards are $10.00/year. 

Students and courtesy patrons may check out books for 21 days, with two renewals. Faculty and staff may check out books for 90 days, with one renewal.

Patrons can log on to Web Voyage, the library’s online public access catalog (OPAC), to manage their library account.

Fines are $.10/day per item.

Audio Visual materials may be checked out for 7 days. Fines are $.50/day per item.

Periodicals and reference materials do not circulate.



Late and Lost Materials

Late materials accrue fines of $.10/day per item, with a cap at $5.00 in fines per item.

Overdue notices are sent to patrons via email. If materials are not returned, they will be marked as lost and the patron’s account will be charged for replacement cost, a processing fee of $10.00 per item, and late fees. 

Faculty and staff members do not accrue fees.

 

Library Hours

The library is open:

Monday–Thursday from 8:00am-6:00pm; 7:00pm-10:00pm

Friday 8:00am-Noon; 1:00pm-3:00pm

Sunday 6:00pm-10:00pm

 

Reciprocal Library Agreements

Judson College maintains reciprocal library agreements with Marion Military Institute, the University of Alabama, and Samford University. Students and faculty must present their school ID at the circulation desk to obtain borrowing rights.
