Computing at Judson College

Computers and related informational technologies are vital tools for Judson faculty, staff and students. The Technology Department is committed to doing everything reasonable to ensure you are able to use these resources effectively and efficiently.

Primary responsibilities of Information Technology Department:

• maintain computing facilities, including the student labs and other public computing facilities, classrooms and laboratories
• maintain the administrative shared database and software
• provide a campus-wide data network with access to the Internet and Intranet
• provide and maintain servers and application software running on them including e-mail
• provide a Help Desk and answer questions about standard hardware and software for students, faculty and staff
• train the campus community to use standard hardware and software
• troubleshoot and correct problems with supported hardware, software, or networks
• advise faculty and staff about technology-related projects; recommend appropriate hardware or software solutions within the established purchasing guidelines
• maintain separate network for resident halls
• monitor technical developments and trends; apply findings to campus technology planning

The Technology Department's primary mode of technical support for students and employees is through the online Help Desk. If you have a computer or telephone related question or problem, please use Track-It or e-mail the Help Desk at helpdesk@judson.edu. Your request is logged and creates a work order. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail when the problem has been resolved.

Instructional Technology

We have enhanced our landscape for learning and teaching with the addition of Moodle, a powerful Course Management System that allows great flexibility and creativity. Contact Paula Arnold (parnold@judson.edu) with any questions regarding Moodle.

The Judson Virtual Library (JVL) enables anyone with a Judson username and password to access all of the Judson Online Databases from anywhere in the world that has Internet access.
