Assistant Professor of Education
Judson College, a private college of arts, sciences, and professional studies located in Marion, Alabama, and situated in the Baptist tradition, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Education beginning August 2018. The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in education from an accredited university and will have extensive teaching experience in grades K-6. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in program accreditation.
The Assistant Professor of Education will teach both on campus and through the distance learning program the equivalent of 12-16 hours per semester during the fall and spring terms and 6 hours during Judson’s May and June semester. She/he will maintain active scholarly work in the field; advise undergraduate students; supervise teacher candidates during field experience placements; work with partnership schools to support P-12 student learning; facilitate the department’s approval through the Alabama State Department of Education; support teacher candidates’ success on certification tests; serve the College through committee work and other tasks; and serve the community through active participation in the College’s Faith-based Service Learning Program. Teaching responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following courses: human growth and development, exceptional children, evaluation of learning and teaching, multiculturalism, instructional media, and elementary science and elementary mathematics methods courses.

One reference should be from a current or former K-6 school administrator who has served as the candidate’s supervisor.
