9/25/2007 - Judson College Presents Duo Piano Concert

The Judson College Concert/Lecture series will present associate professor of music and pianist Dr. Elizabeth Hostetter in concert with London pianist Dr. Craig W. Combs on Oct. 11.

The piano concert and will feature music from the Fauré Dolly Suite, Opus 56, “Berceuse,” “Mi-a-ou” and “Pas Espagnol”; Schumann's Pictures from the East, Opus 66; Grieg's Norwegian Dances, Opus 35; Bernhard Heiden's Sonata and Copland's "Variations on a Shaker Melody from Appalachian Spring."

Hostetter holds degrees from Arizona State University and the University of Louisville and has been on faculty at Judson since 2003. She has been active in the Music Teachers National Association including terms as president. She is a MusicLink teacher, giving piano lessons to economically disadvantaged children who show musical promise. Her honorary memberships include Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda.

Combs graduated from the Eastman School of music and has been on the faculties of both university and secondary music schools. He is the founder and artistic director of Paramount Players and performs widely in America and in Europe. He has performed at a number of American universities including Yale, Cornell and Stanford.

The concert will be in the Alumnae Auditorium at 7 p.m. There is no admission charge and the public is welcomed.
