4/13/2008 - "Old Howard 100" bike ride set for April The fourth annual "Old Howard 100" bike ride in Perry and Hale counties will be on April 19, and will begin at 9 a.m. on the campus of Judson College. Routes of 30, 50, 70 and 100 miles are available and are fully supported by the Cahaba Cycles van and additional vehicles. Proceeds from the ride benefit "Sowing Seeds of Hope," but more specifically that organization’s assistance with individuals who have been newly diagnosed with diabetes, hypertension or kidney disease and need help purchasing medicine or being transported to a dialysis site. Last year’s proceeds of $3,000 went directly to patient care. More information is available from the website, www.samford.edu/oldhoward.
