8/28/2008 - New Equestrian team members ready to saddle up in '08-'09
By Allison Agee and Kari Dunn Judson College Equestrian Team try-outs were held on Aug. 20. Returning team members for the 2008-2009 season include sophomore Griffin Casey from Brundidge, who will compete in western equitation; senior Joy Coppock from Lowndesboro, who will compete in both hunter and western equitation; sophomore Jessica Elmore from Opp who will compete in western equitation; sophomore Candyce Gibbs from Cullman, who will compete in western equitation and sophomore Alyssa Hicks from Corpus Christi, Texas, who will compete in both hunter and western equitation. New team members include sophomore Courtney Albright from Charlotte, NC, who will compete in both hunter and western equitation; sophomore Heather Hodge from Thomasville, who will compete in hunter and western equitation; freshman Kristin Forrester from Birmingham, who will compete in western equitation and freshman Christina Wood from Fairhope, who will compete in hunter equitation. The first Intercollegiate Horse Show Association show of the season will be a hunter only show hosted by the University of Georgia in Athens on Sept. 21. The team, including equine coach Jennifer Hoggle, is anticipating another great IHSA year of competition and travel.
