Judson College hosted the Alabama Symphony Orchestra on Nov. 13 as part of the current academic year's concert/lecture schedule.

The orchestra performed selections from Beethoven, Sibelius, Saint-Saens and Schumann and was conducted by Yaniv Attar.

The concert featured violin solos by principal second violinist Yuriko Yasuda.

"The Concert/Lecture Committee is very proud that Judson College contracted the Alabama Symphony to play in the Alumnae Auditorium which is one of the finest music buildings in the state," said committee chair and professor of biology Dr. Thomas Wilson

"Hosting the symphony again demonstrates the dedication and appreciation that Judson has for creating moments of exceptional cultural value and beauty for our college family and for the local community," he said. "I look forward to other outstanding performances that the committee has engaged for the near future."

Committee student member Hannah Tucker of Trussville also expressed her appreciation and enthusiasm for the symphony's performance.

"I am excited and grateful that the college was able to host the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and the symphony gave an amazing performance," she said.
