8/17/2009 - New Faculty welcomed

Judson College welcomed four new full-time teachers at the annual Faculty Institute on August 13.

Jamie Adams will serve as assistant professor of art. He earned the BFA degree from the University of Montevallo and the MFA from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Edinboro, Pa. He has been a teacher and an exhibitor whose art has earned critical acclaim and several awards.

Allen Stata, associate professor of social work, comes from Eastern New Mexico University where he taught for the past seven years. In addition to his teaching experience, he has worked as a school-based therapist and in private practice. He earned his MSW degree from the Boston University of Social Work and his Ph.D from the Florence Heller School of Brandeis University.

Judy L. Ransom, assistant professor of music, served as music professor at High Point University in North Carolina. Her experience includes serving as instrumentalist and conductor in a number of churches and in public schools. She earned the DMA degree from Shenandoah University.

Joann Williams, associate professor of business administration, taught in the college of commerce and business administration at Jacksonville State University for the past 10 years. She earned the MBA degree from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and her Ph.D in business administration from Washington State University.

Judson will commence her 171st academic year on Aug. 19.
