11/7/2009 - Wilson to lecture at symposium in Cuba

Judson College professor of biology Dr. Thomas Wilson has been invited to participate in The Wetlands Symposium in Cuba Oct. 31 - Nov. 8.

The symposium is being held in the Zapata Wetlands, better known as the "Bay of Pigs." The Eco Cuba Exchange organization describes the property as "the largest and best-preserved wetland in the Caribbean . . .outstanding for the diversity of its bird species and for the presence of threatened endemic species."

Wilson will make a presentation on lake restoration and management for ecotourism and ecology. 

He will travel with the Alabama State Department of Agriculture and is sponsored by International Expeditions.
