11/16/2009 - Visiting artist Mike Budai to showcase work at JC

Information courtesy of Jamie Adams, Art Professor

The Art Department is very pleased to be showcasing the work of Pittsburgh based designer and artist Mike Budai. His print work, developed through years of creating show posters for various venues throughout the U.S., aims to create a visual stimulus for the viewer, while attempting to show that the hands on/computer off method of creating artwork is still viable. Judson is very lucky that Budai has graciously agreed to come to Marion to discuss his work.

The opening reception is Monday, November 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Marian Acree Tucker Gallery. Budai will be on hand to discuss his work. If this isn't enough of an incentive to come see some terrific (and affordable; all prints are $40 and all posters are $10) artwork, Sabrina Pearson Adams has graciously agreed to make a terrific selection of dishes for the exhibition.

In addition to attending the opening, Budai will be giving a lecture on his work from 9:20 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in Tucker Recital Hall on Tuesday morning, November 17. Also on Tuesday, he will be making a three color screen prints with the art majors (but all are welcome to attend) in Mead Hall from 1:00 p.m. until finished.
