4/24/2010 - Musical Gala to be presented on two nights
The Judson College music department will present its annual "Gala," on April 17 at 7 p.m., which will include acts from students, faculty and people in the local communities. The April 17 Gala will be just the first half of the talent. The second half of the talent will take the stage in another Gala scheduled for April 24 at 7 p.m. The event will take place in Alumnae Auditorium on the Judson campus. Judson professor of music Dr. Betty Campbell promises a night of unequalled entertainment and good fun. Some of Marion's most talented performers will be joining Judson students and MMI Cadets. The variety of entertainment will include music from the Broadway Musicals , "Les Miserables," "Phantom of the Opera", "Little Mermaid", "Porgy and Bess," and "Showboat." Dances include ballroom dancing, partner dancing. Ballet from "Cats" to solo ballet, as well as, "Jitterbug" Solo instruments include French Horn, Flute, Guitar and Violin. The admission is $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for students and goes to support a scholarship fund for the Delta Psi Chapter of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity.
