JC Grad Continues Equine Work 

Photo cut line: Judson alumna Alyssa Anne Hicks ('09) of Robstown, Texas, now works at Windwood Equestrian Center in Pelham where she helps care for the 26 horses. She assists with turn outs, feeding, grooming, tacking and untacking, cleaning tack, health checks, administering meds and wrapping and riding. This summer she'll return to Camp Illahee in Brevard, NC as a member of riding staff where she'll be responsible for grooming, feeding and schooling horses, mucking stalls, raking and teaching riding lessons to campers.


 

JC Equine student to teach at summer camp

Photo cut line: Judson College senior and equine team member Samantha Marcella of Cullman will work this summer at Camp Skyline in Mentone where her assignments will include serving as counselor for girls ages 10-12 and teaching riding classes for all campers. Marcella will attend a Christian Camping Horsemanship International clinic in June and be certified in equine safety. "I'm very excited to be considered for this job and I'm looking forward to working at Camp Skyline this summer," Marcella said. "I feel that studying riding and equine science at Judson has made me feel like I am fully prepared." Marcella is the daughter of Charles and Donna Marcella of Cullman. A biology major and equine studies minor, she will graduate from Judson in June of next year.
