6/11/2010 - Marion Rodeo marks 15 Years By Jennifer Hoggle The annual Marion Rodeo will be June 11-12 at the Ralph Eagle Memorial Arena on Alabama Highway 14 in Marion. Once again, there will be many activities for children like the boot race, goat dressing, stick pony races, calf scramble and the little wrangler presentation. Of course there will be cowboys and cowgirls and not just ANY, but those who are professionals and members of the Professional Cowboys Association. And the stock? Well they will be none other than the championship stock of the 3-R Rodeo Company, owned by Dale Ray of Jemison. Finally, since the rodeo honors a group or organization and serves to raise charitable funds, this year's proceeds will honor the late John Wayne Friday who was a kind and generous supporter of all things Perry County and who loved the Marion Rodeo. The rodeo promises to be a fun, family event for a good cause and will offer something for everyone.
