Wilmore Opens Fall Chapel Series
Photo cut line: Dr. Roger Willmore, pastor of the Deerfoot Baptist Church in Trussville, inaugurated the new year's chapel series at Judson College on Aug. 31. His topic was "The Person God Uses." Willmore began his ministry serving as pastor of the Ephesus Baptist Church in Perry County near Judson College while a Samford student. Judson awarded him an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 2009 after his service as president of the Alabama Baptist Convention. Photo cut line: Judson College senior Samantha Marcella of Cullman served as counselor this summer at the Camp Skyline Ranch atop Lookout Mountain in Mentone, Ala. Skyline is a Christian camp for girls ages 6 to 16. She lodged in a cabin with girls 9-11 in addition to working in the barn, administering English riding lessons and assisting on trail rides. Marcella earned certification earlier in the summer from Christian Camping Horsemanship International (instructors4christ.org) in levels one and two, English and western.
