10/14/2010 - Soccer team participates in "Safe Walks" to fight childhood obesity
Soccer team participates in "Safe Walks" Event The Judson College Soccer team participated in a pep rally for the youth of Perry County to bring awareness to the rising epidemic of childhood obesity. This program was hosted by Sowing Seeds of Hope and the Perry County School District and was held on Saturday, September 25, 2010. The title of the event was "Safe Walks to School to Fight Childhood Obesity". The event was highlighted by a parade through downtown Marion. The purpose of the parade is to promote safe walking routes for school children in Perry County. The goal was to bring awareness to the community about the rising epidemic of childhood obesity and how something as simple as walking to school can reduce its impact on the community. *Article courtesy of the Judson College Athletic Department. |
