10/30/2010 - Hunt Seat team earns top awards in Halloween weekend competition

The Judson College Equestrian Hunt Seat Team spent Halloween weekend on the road to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association show at Lander University in Greenwood, SC. 

Coach Janice Williams traveled with the team and her husband, Bill, agreed to be van driver for the 15 hour trip.

On the first day, Faith Williams of Crossville competed in equitation and over fences. Megan Cook of Bothell, Wash., placed first in her advanced walk, trot and canter class. Heather Hodge of Thomasville also competed.

Beverly Cox of Athens competed in beginner walk, trot and canter and won sixth place. Rebecca O'Neal of Chatom placed third in the beginner walk and trot class. Laura Hyer of Marion Junction also competed in the class.

On the second day Williams placed fifth in over fences. Cook and Hodge both placed reserve in advanced walk, trot and canter. Cox placed sixth in beginner walk, trot and canter. O'Neal placed third and Hyer placed fourth in beginner walk and trot.


The next ISHA competition will be on February 12, 2011.
