Chosen Vessels Dance Group Returns to Judson College

Judson College will once again host the performing group, "Chosen Vessels Dance," in concert on March 3.

Founded in 1998 by Vanessa Manley, "Chosen Vessels" is a performance ensemble ministry that fuses dance, drama, music and the spoken word and is dedicated to exploring the use of cultural expression as a catalyst for social change and spiritual growth.

Manley, an accomplished choreographer and performer, is an Alabama native and a long-time advocate of the arts. She trained and performed at the University of Alabama's Department of Theatre and Dance, Harvard University and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York.

Manley has dedicated her artistic career to works that glorify God, uplift humanity and provide spiritual renewal.

Though headquartered in Atlanta, "Chosen Vessels" has been presented extensively in New York and has performed throughout the United States, Caribbean, Europe and Africa.

As part of its mission and outreach effort, the ensemble presents annual workshops, lecture demonstrations, performances and long-term residencies.

The group also engages in extensive community-based programming, encouraging cultural activity as an inherent part of community life.

The ensemble website is chosenvesselsdance.com.

The concert will be at 7 p.m. in the Alumnae Auditorium.

There is no admission charge and the public is welcomed.

For more information, contact Concert and Lecture Committee chair, Dr. Thomas Wilson, at 334.683.5179.
