2/12/2011 - Hunt seat team brings home 11 ribbons from Georgia show
By Rebecca A. O'Neal The Judson College hunt seat equestrian team traveled to Athens, Ga. to compete in the Valentine's Day Classic last weekend. On Feb. 12, Faith Williams of Crossville competed in a jumper and flat class. She placed fifth in her jumper class and sixth in her flat class. Heather Hodge of Thomasville won fifth in advanced walk/trot/canter. Beverly Cox of Athens placed third in her beginner walk/trot/canter class. Laura Hyer of Marion Junction and Rebecca O'Neal of Chatom competed in beginner walk/trot. Hyer placed sixth and O'Neal placed fourth. On the second day, Williams placed third in her jumper class. Megan Cook of Bothell, Wa. competed in advanced walk/trot/canter class and won the first blue ribbon of the weekend for Judson. Cox placed sixth. Two groups competed on the final day in walk/trot. Hyer was in group one and placed second. Rebecca O'Neal was in the group two and placed first, earning the second blue ribbon. Judson won a total of eleven ribbons over the weekend.
