2/24/2012 - Judson College Hosted ‘National African American Read-In’ Feb. 23
The Judson College English department was a local sponsor for the 2012 "National African American Read-In" on Feb. 23. Participants read from the literature of African-American authors including plays, poetry and narrative. According to the National Council of Teachers of English website, the “Read-In” has been endorsed by the International Reading Association. Over one million readers of all ethnic groups from the United States, the District of Columbia, the West Indies, African countries and more have participated. The goal is to make the celebration of African American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities.
