2/21/2012 - Judson Equestrians Make Good at University of Georgia Show By Rebecca O'Neal Judson College Student Writer
Judson College’s Hunt Seat Team competed at the University of Georgia’s Valentine’s Day Classic Feb. 11-12. The show was hosted at the Chateau Élan Resort in Braselton, Ga. and was the first show of the new spring academic semester. Participants endured severe winter weather. The temperature finally reached 39 degrees on the first day but the wind chill made it feel like 29 degrees. Faith Williams of Crossville and Katie Beeman of Hurley, Miss. placed 6th in walk/trot/canter. Williams also placed 4th in the jumping competition. Beverly Cox of Athens placed 6th in walk/trot/canter 2B and Megan Cook of Murray, Ky. placed 4th. Olivia Breimhorst of Gardendale placed 5th in walk/trot/canter 2A. Taylor Whisenant of Pinson, placed 5th in walk/trot. The weather was more favorable and warmer without the wind on the second day. Williams placed 6th in over fences and Cox placed 5th. Breimhorst placed 5th and Rebecca O’Neal of Chatom placed 1st. Whisenant won the final ribbon for Judson on day two by placing 4th. |
