3/1/2012 - Two Judson College Professors to be Featured in University of Alabama Documentaries

Two short documentary films produced by students from the University of Alabama will be shown at Judson College on March 6, almost a year after their original premiere date, April 23, 2011.

Filmmaker Carly Palmour explained that she began making her documentary for a class but the class and the entire spring semester at UA was cut short due to the tornados that ripped through Tuscaloosa and other Alabama counties last April.

Palmour, originally from Birmingham, is a video and marketing intern at UA and WVUA public television in Tuscaloosa.

Palmour will introduce one of the documentaries featuring biology professor Dr. Thomas Wilson entitled, "The Guardian." The film demonstrates Wilson's commitment to protecting and preserving the Perry Lakes Park area.

Zach White will introduce the second video featuring Judson artist-in-residence Dr. Billie Jean Young and her efforts in "drama immersion" for the youth of Perry County. This segment is from the television program, "Alabama Art Seen."

Both documentaries are 10 minutes in length and will be shown in the Adams-Armstrong Lecture Hall at Judson on March 6 at 7 p.m.

There is no admission charge and the public is welcomed.
