4/23/2012 - Eighth ‘Old Howard 100’ Bike Ride Completed in Perry, Hale, and Dallas Counties
Despite thunderstorm forecasts for the day, more than 200 cyclists traveled to Judson College for the 8th annual Old Howard 100 Bike Ride on Saturday, April 21. The event, sponsored by the Howard College of Arts and Sciences of Samford University, celebrates the Baptist history of Alabama’s Black Belt area, and featured rides of 30, 45, 75 and 100 miles through Marion, Newbern, Greensboro and Selma. All proceeds from the ride will be donated to the Sowing Seeds of Hope interfaith initiative of Perry County. Photo by Bill Mathews.
