A blend of history comes alive with the sights and sounds of the Deep South at Riverfront Market Day, to be held on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 in historic downtown Selma, Alabama.

Together with ArtsRevive, the Selma-Dallas County Historic Preservation Society annually hosts quality vendors, artisans and craftsmen to market their wares. Among those, Judson alumna Cat Pope (2011) will be hosting an art booth of fine oil and watercolor paintings.

Says Pope of her journey to Market Day, "I first visited Riverfront Market Day as a Judson student, but I never thought I would be selling my work there fresh out of school. I've always liked visiting festivals and arts/craft fairs, so when a vendor opportunity came up, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I  believe that my time at Judson allowed me to meet people and discover opportunities within the local art community."

For more about Cat and her work, visit her website at www.catpope.com.

Riverfront Market gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Price is just $2 for adults, $1 for children 12 and over, and FREE for children under 12. For more information, visit www.historicselma.org.

Pope has taught printmaking, ceramics, painting, and drawing to elementary school children, as well as private lessons and adult painting classes through the GHCAC.
