10/12/2012 - Judson College Equestrian Team Competes in First Show of Season
The Judson College Equestrian
Western team members competed in their first set of Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association shows for the 2012-2013 season on Sept. 29. These shows were hosted by North
Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Ga. Competitors were from Berry
College, Georgia Tech, Judson College, Mississippi State University and North
Georgia College and State University.
During the first show, freshman
Mary Kilpatrick of Dothan placed sixth in Novice, class 13. Freshman Bri
Hunter of Somerville placed reserve.
Junior Shelby Crews of
Greenville placed reserve in class 12B, Intermediate II.
Jana Davenport of Jemison placed
first in class 12A, Intermediate I. Senior Lindy Cowart of Brandon, Miss.
placed third.
In class 11, Beginner,
sophomore, Rylee Parnell of Tibee, placed second in class II, Beginner.
Sophomore Kayla Brasher of Jemison placed fourth.
During the second show, Mary
Kilpatrick placed fourth in class 13, and junior Christina Duke of Vestavia
Hills placed fifth.
Shelby Crews placed fourth in
class 12. Lindy Cowart placed second in class 12A and Jana Davenport
placed fourth.
Rylee Parnell placed third in
class11 and Kayla Brasher placed fourth.
The next IHSA show will be Oct.
20-21 at Berry College in Rome, Ga. and will feature both the Western and hunt
seat divisions.
