Amanda Carle,
a senior teacher candidate, was awarded a $750.00 Kappa Delta Epsilon (KDE)
scholarship for her outstanding academic achievements and her commitment to
service. KDE
is an honorary educational fraternity.
Founded in 1933, for over 75 years, KDE has fostered the development of
professional ideals among its membership.
Amanda is a
leader in Judson College’s Beta Rho Chapter of KDE, the Department of
Education’s honorary fraternity. In addition to serving as the chapter’s treasurer, Amanda has worked to support the chapter and the KDE regionally through
her efforts to plan and help host the South Regional Meeting held in New
Orleans September 28-30, 2012. Through
her willingness to support the organization in its mission, Amanda embodies the
KDE creed “To love, respect, understand, and guide the student for a life of
unfolding possibilities is the task of the teacher; to give aid, counsel, and
support to fellow teachers and to all agencies promoting the love of truth,
beauty, and goodness is the privilege of the teacher.” The department of education is proud of
Amanda and her accomplishments.
