Shannon-Allen----Championship-A-1stThe ministers played on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, and they enjoyed their customary banquet on Monday night. Overall winners of the tournament were honored at the concluding luncheon on Tuesday.

First place went to Shannon Allen, pastor of Ashby Baptist Church in Brierfield, Ala.* Second place winner was Andrew Lowe, pastor of the Fairhaven Baptist Church in Demopolis. Winner of the Over 70 Division was A.L. Courtney.

“This was a time for ministers to relax and enjoy one another’s company,” golf committee chair, David Byrd, pastor of the Northside Baptist Church in Jasper, said. “The tournament also gives them the opportunity to learn more about what Judson offers the young women in their churches,” Byrd added.

Judson College’s president, Dr. David E. Potts awarded the prizes at the concluding luncheon.

“The college thoroughly enjoyed the presence of ministers from around the state for the 53rd Annual Ministers’ Golf Tournament at Judson.  We were very encouraged that many new pastors were a part of this year’s tournament and that devoted veterans returned for the event. Ministers enjoyed good fellowship, the tournament, and inspiring words from Judson’s students. We look forward to next year’s event on the day after Mother’s Day,” Potts said.
