Christopher C. Jordan and Cindy St. Clair to perform in recital featuring African-American spirituals

The Judson College Department of Music is pleased to host American Baritone, Christopher C. Jordan, with Pianist and Assistant Professor of Music, Cindy St. Clair, in recital on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Alumnae Auditorium.

Mr. Jordan has a dynamically diverse performance and academic background. His repertoire encompasses opera, oratorio, art song, musical theatre, pop, and gospel.  He has appeared in numerous operatic productions, recently making his debut with Opera Birmingham. Jordan has also been featured on stage with pop and gospel artists including Roberta Flack, Peabo Bryson, James Ingram, Sheena Easton, and the Clark Sisters. He is featured on the recording “We Study, We Shout, We Serve!”

As a sought-after recitalist, Mr. Jordan regularly sings a wide array of songs by new and notable composers of various nationalities. A dedicated champion of American art song, he often performs recitals specializing in the song literature of the African American composer. He is an advocate for the performance and preservation of the African American spiritual.
