Judson College to host Preview and Scholarship Day Nov. 8

Judson College will host its second fall Preview and Scholarship Day on November 8. Prospective Judson students and their parents are invited to visit the Judson campus, explore the college’s academic programs, meet current students and faculty, and learn more about admissions and financial aid. Amy Collins, Judson senior of Birmingham, Ala., remembers visiting Judson for a Preview and Scholarship Day as a prospective student: “Attending Preview & Scholarship Day helped me in choosing Judson. It was just something about the people and the Christian environment that lured me in! I was able to experience what life on campus was like and how closely everyone interacted. Here, I am viewed as more than just an everyday student, and I feel like this is where God wants me to be.”Judson College Student Ambassadors begin a campus tour at the front steps of Jewett Hall

The November Preview and Scholarship Day will begin with check-in and an 8:00 a.m. Student Activities session, when campus organizations display opportunities for each student to find her place in the Judson community. Prospective students may spend the night in a residence hall (optional), meet faculty and staff in breakout sessions, enjoy lunch in the college dining hall, and participate in campus tours guided by Judson Student Ambassadors. For students interested in learning more about Judson’s Equine Science program or joining the IHSA equestrian team, an opportunity will be available to visit the on-campus equine center and view an equine demonstration.

High school seniors and college transfer students who have applied to Judson may take a general aptitude test to compete for one full- and five partial-tuition institutional scholarships. Student-athletes may try out for one of Judson’s NCCAA intercollegiate athletic teams. Athletic scholarships are available for basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball. Additionally, Judson’s Fine and Performing Arts division will host music and theatre auditions. Performing arts scholarships are available in piano, organ, voice, and theatre.

Ashlyn Lane, a member of Judson’s Class of 2016 and Sylacauga, Ala., native, encourages prospective students to visit: “Coming to scholarship day gives prospective students an idea of what Judson life is actually like. You can’t know what campus is like, what the people are like, or how it feels to be on Judson’s campus solely by pictures and by word of mouth–you have to experience it for yourself. Once I stepped onto Judson’s campus, I never wanted to go back to any other school.”
