Judson College to offer “teach out” program for ITT nursing students

On November 18, 2016, the Alabama Board of Nursing granted approval for Judson College to establish a nursing education program to offer a “teach out” for Breckinridge School of Nursing and Health Sciences students displaced when ITT Technical Institution closed on September 6, 2016.

Judson’s “teach out” program, which will be separate from Judson’s existing Nursing program, will provide a way for qualifying ITT nursing students who had successfully completed at least six terms in the ITT program to complete the Associate Degree in Nursing.  Former ITT students who would have entered the seventh, eighth, or ninth term at the time of ITT’s closure may enter Judson’s teach out program in January 2017.

Requirements for program admission include unconditional acceptance to Judson College, a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average, and a minimum grade of C in all nursing and general education courses eligible for transfer credit.  Admission is limited to ITT students who were entering their seventh, eighth, or ninth terms at the time of the institution’s closure.

For additional information about admission to Judson College, call the Office of Admissions at 334-683-5110 or email admissions@judson.edu.  For specific questions about the course of study, call the Nursing Department at 334-683-5185.
