Judson Creative Services Specialist featured in art exhibition Oct. 29

Katlin BaileyKatlin Bailey, Judson College Creative Services Specialist for the Office of Marketing and Communications, will have two prints featured in a juried competition presented by International Paper’s Riverdale Mill and Selma ArtsRevive. The exhibit, Celebrating the Art of Paper, will open on Saturday, Oct. 29, with a reception in the Carneal ArtsRevive Building in downtown Selma, Ala., from 6-8pm.

Bailey graduated from Judson College in 2012 with an interdisciplinary New Media Journalism degree. Her prints featured in the competition celebrate the power of human connection: one inspired by the humanitarian crisis after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and another by the beauty of patterns in South Asian cultures. “I’m very excited to have my work included with so many other talented artists from all over Alabama, and I’m looking forward to the inspiration I’m sure to find at this show,” said Bailey.

The competition features works solely on paper and is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of International Paper’s Riverdale Mill in Selma. The juror for the show is Judson College Art Department Head Jamie Adams. Adams’ work as a sculptor and printmaker has received many awards, including the Flexcut Award for Excellence in Printmaking at the Edinboro Print National and the Karen Burgess-Smith Award at the Ceramics Biennial in Manchester, NH. Adams has also won Best in Show at the Gulf States Rising Exhibition at the George Ohr Museum.
