Judson equestrian team announces 2015-2016 roster

The Judson College Equestrian Team is proud to announce its roster for the 2015 – 2016 season.

Returning members of the Hunt Seat Team competing in class 2B are: sophomore Sara Alsabrook of Centreville, Ala., junior Alex Huber of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and junior Sheila Palmer of Hoover, Ala.  Joining them in class 2B will be new team member, Abigail Wood, a sophomore from Western Cape, South Africa. Also joining the team are sophomore Candace Paige of Gadsden, Ala., who will compete in classes 3 and 4; Kailee Ramsey, a sophomore of Somerville, Ala., who will compete in classes 5 and 6; Maegen Fariss, a sophomore from Prattville, Ala., who will compete in class 2A; and Sara Jean Lane, a sophomore from Conyers, Ga., who will compete in Class 1. Coach Janice Williams of Marion, Ala. indicates her excitement for the season: “I’m looking forward to a wonderful season with an amazing group of talented women!”

Riders competing on the Judson Western Team include Emily Dickerson, a junior of Madison, Ala., who returns to compete in class 12B. She is joined in this class by new team members: freshman Chloey Guy of Navarre, Fla.; junior Katelyn Moore of Millington, Tenn., and sophomore Laurin Smith of Gurley, Ala.  Alex Huber (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) returns to compete in class 14.  Mary Kilpatrick, a senior from Dothan, Ala., returns to compete in classes 15 and 16. Also joining the team is senior Kricket Wise of Pensacola, Fla., who will compete in class 13. Western team coach Jennifer Hoggle, of Marion, Ala., is excited to have another opportunity to work with the Judson Equestrian team and is looking forward to the first set of shows on September 26, hosted by the University of North Georgia and held at Epiphany Farms.

Judson College is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 5, Region 2 and competes with member colleges of IHSA, which include: Berry College, Emory University, Georgia State University, Georgia College, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State University, Mississippi College, Mississippi State University, Auburn University, Samford University, University of Alabama, University of Georgia, University of North Georgia and the University of West Georgia.  IHSA has over 8300 individual members from over 370 colleges and provides 8 levels of hunter seat competition and 6 levels of western competition.
