Judson Music Department to host third Musical Hors D’oeuvres program

At 11:30 am on Thursday, November 12, the Judson College Music Department will present its third “Musical Hors D’oeuvres” program of the semester. It will be a short, 25-minute performance in the choral room of Tucker Hall. Students that will be performing classical literature are vocalists Carol Nichols of Iuka, Miss., Kaitlyn Garrison of Thorsby, Ala., Ana Williams of Helena, Ala., and Christy Miller of Mulga, Ala.  Student pianists will be Sarah Jean Lane of Conyers, Ga., and Seng Hkwan, Yaw Nam, and Jaw Seng Zin of Myitkyina, Kachin State, Myanmar.

Each student performer has been refining her playing and singing techniques in individual private lessons during the Fall 2015 semester. Outstanding students and performers, they were invited to participate in Musical Hors D’ouvres by the Judson music faculty, which includes Dr. Camilla Horne, Dr. Betty Campbell, Dr. Sadie Frazier, and Mrs. Cindy St. Clair.

The Musical Hors D’oeuvres series at Judson College consists of short musical performances set on particular Thursdays from 11:30-12:00. All Musical Hors D’oeuvres performances are free and open to the public.  Notes, texts, and translations will be provided in a program.
