Judson to serve as local weigh-in site for Scale Back Alabama

Judson College will be serving as a weigh-in site for the state’s largest weight loss and exercise program, Scale Back Alabama. This year, Scale Back celebrates its 12th anniversary, 1.35 million pounds lost, and continued support of healthy lifestyles in the state.

The free Scale Back program incorporates fun, community, and friendly competition to encourage participants to incorporate healthier choices into their lives. Adults in teams of two can enter the 2018 contest during Weigh-In Week. Teams who lose at least ten pounds during the 9-week program will be entered into a drawing for cash prizes on April 17.

“Scale Back Alabama is a fun time for our campus and community as participants throughout Perry county work to shed those unwanted pounds,” says Marsha Ford, Assistant Vice President for Athletics. “We look forward to seeing familiar faces–and some new ones, too–at weigh-in for another fun year!”

Local teams can register online at scalebackalabama.com/join and then weigh in at Riddle Gymnasium on the Judson campus (302 Bibb Street, Marion, AL 36756). Weigh-in times at Judson are January 22-25 from 2-5pm.

All Scale Back participants must be 18 years of age and older, live or work in Alabama, and weigh in at an official site to be eligible to participate. Scale Back Alabama is a collaboration of the Alabama Hospital Association, the Alabama Department of Public Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
