Judson students perform in Musical Hors D’oeuvres program

On  January 21, the pledge class of Judson’s chapter of Delta Omicron, the international professional music fraternity, performed pieces for the Music Department’s monthly “Musical Hors D’oeuvres”program.

The following students performed:

Sarah White (Valley, AL, junior) – “A Swan” by Edvard Grieg
Christy Miller (Birmingport, AL, senior) – “Nacht” by Richard Strauss
Destany Sherman (Decatur, AL, junior) – “Morning has Broken” arranged by Elyse Mach
Kaitlyn Garrison (Thorsby, AL, sophomore) – “Verschwiegene Liebe” by Hugo Wolf
Jordan Ross (Grand Bay, AL, sophomore) – “Green finch and linnet bird” from Sweeney Todd by Stephen Sondheim
Jaw Seng Zin (Myanmar, sophomore)- “Allegro” from Sonata in C Major​, K. 545 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Sara Jean Lane (Conyers, Georgia, sophomore) – “Edward” Ballade in D Minor, Op. 10, No. 1 by Johannes Brahms
Blair Carrier (Robertsdale, AL, sophomore) – “The Lass from the Low Countree” by John Jacob Niles

The Musical Hors D’oeuvres series at Judson College consists of short musical performances that allow students and faculty of the Judson Music Department to showcase the talent and repertoire that are being developed over the course of each semester. All Musical Hors D’oeuvres performances are free and open to the public.  Notes, texts, and translations are provided in a program.
