Judson’s IHSA Hunt Seat team begins season

Judson College’s Hunt Seat team participated in their first competition of the intercollegiate season on October 17-18th, 2015. The University of Alabama hosted the show in Tuscaloosa at River Oaks Farm. Competitors included teams from Auburn University, the University of Alabama, Berry College, Emory University, Georgia College, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, and Mississippi College.

It was a great start for both new and returning members of the team. Judson’s horses Gibby (Hanoverian/Thoroughbred cross), Ranelli (Paint), and Ben (Thoroughbred/Quarter horse cross) also enjoyed some attention, receiving many compliments for the assistance they provided the IHSA and the host of the competition.

On Saturday, Kailee Ramsey from Somerville, AL competed in her first Intermediate Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat classes, receiving reserve in both. Candace Paige from Gadsden, AL won the Novice Flat class with Judson’s own horse, Gibby.
