Pastors’ conference to be held at Judson Jan. 26

Judson College and the Office of LeaderCare and Church Administration of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions will partner to offer their annual pastor’s conference on January 26.  The speaker for this year’s conference is author and EvanTell founder Larry Moyer.

Moyer is the founder of EvanTell, a ministry committed to declaring the gospel clearly and simply, activating believers around the world, and preparing upcoming generations to reach the lost.  Moyer is also a writer, having authored numerous evangelism tracts and articles in addition to books such as Free and Clear, Show Me How To Share The Gospel, Show Me How To Answer Tough Questions, 31 Days with the Master Fisherman, 31 Days to Living as a New Believer, and 21 Things God Never Said.  He is a regular guest lecturer in evangelism at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and Florida and visiting professor at Dallas Theological Seminary.

This year’s pastor’s conference, aimed at helping pastors equip their church members to evangelize their communities more effectively, begins at 10:30a.m. with registration and coffee in Judson’s Jewett Hall.  A worship service begins immediately following.  Moyer will speak at a special session for pastors following lunch, which will be provided at no cost to registered conference participants.  A complimentary copy of Dr. Moyer’s book 31 Days with the Master Fisherman and lunch will also be available for each participating pastor.

Moyer will also speak at Judson’s Christian Emphasis Week.  Three special Chapel services, which are open to the public, will be held in Judson’s Ramsay-McCrummen Chapel at 11:05a.m. on January 26, 27, and 28 as part of this event.  Christian Emphasis Week began in 1945 at the request of Judson student Mary Essie Stephens, who would go on to serve as Executive Secretary of the Alabama Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) from 1955 to 1984.
