Student voice and piano recitals to be held Nov. 15 and 17

The Judson College Music Department announces two junior recitals scheduled for this week:

Tuesday, November 15th at 7:00 pm – Voice Recital (Alumnae Auditorium)

Soprano Kaitlyn Garrison, a native of Thorsby, Alabama, attended Chilton Christian Academy in Jemison. She is a junior at Judson College, majoring in English and double-minoring in business and music, and studies voice with Dr. Sadie Goodman. She is president of Judson’s chapter (Delta Psi) of the international professional music fraternity, Delta Omicron. She has been a member of the FAITH ensemble and Judson Singers. Off campus she has participated in the Vann Vocal Institute, the thirteenth annual ACDA Collegiate Choral Festival, as well as the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition for the past two years. She is a member of the choir and the praise team at Victory Baptist Church in Jemison, Alabama. Accompanist for Garrison’s recital is Mrs. Miriam Nicholson.

Thursday, November 17th at 7:00 pm – Piano Recital (Alumnae Auditorium)

Jaw Seng Zin, a native of Myitkyina, Kachin State, Myanmar, is a junior studying piano with Dr. Cindy St. Clair. Jaw currently sings with the Judson Singers and has previously sung with the FAITH Ensemble. She is a member of Delta Omicron, currently serving as its Chaplain/Warden.  She is also a member of the Praise Team and Campus Ministries Council.  Jaw helps teach the children’s choir and plays piano at the Jacksonville Kachin Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida in the summer months. After she completes her studies at Judson College, she will return to Myanmar and join the teaching ministry at Kachin Theological College and Seminary.
