Construction & Renovation of Facilities
Base Goal: $5,000,000
Challenge Goal: $10,600,000
Research tells us that some of the most important factors in student recruitment and retention, particularly for women, are related to the campus environment itself: its residence halls, classroom and educational space, shared spaces/student centers, and athletic facilities. The Blessed Light Campaign outlines several areas of priority to enhance the comfort, well-being, and success of the College’s students.
The College’s residence halls are among the most important areas of interest for both current and prospective students, so the College will address updates to Julia Barron Hall and Anne Kirtley Hall. In addition to the residence halls, other significant facility construction/renovations include completion of the Mary Katherine Archibald Blount Student Center, completion of the Equine Center, renovation of Riddle Gymnasium, updates to Robert Bowling Library, refurbishment of the tennis courts, the addition of lighting for the soccer and softball fields, technology upgrades, and restoration of the historic President’s Home.
